On your device

What this site stores

One value, and only after you choose. When you answer the privacy banner, your answer is saved in your browser's local storage so the banner does not ask again on every page.

That value stays in your browser. It is not a cookie, it is not sent to a server, and it is not readable by any other site. Clearing your browser data removes it, and the banner asks again.

Not collected

What this site does not collect

RigCircuit does not load Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, Google Ads measurement or any other tracker until you allow optional measurement. When you allow it, Google Tag Manager loads Google Analytics for audience and usage measurement and Google Ads measurement, which may set or access advertising identifiers and support remarketing. There is no account system, so there is nothing to sign up for and no profile to build beyond what Google's own measurement collects once allowed.

RigCircuit uses Google's Consent Mode to carry your choice to Google. Before any choice is made, every signal sent to Google is set to denied by default. Allowing optional measurement raises that signal to granted for Google Analytics and Google Ads together. Withdrawing it lowers the signal back to denied for future requests.

  • No measurement, advertising or remarketing script is loaded when you choose only necessary storage, and Google's consent signal for this site stays denied by default.
  • Google Tag Manager is the first script that can load after optional measurement is allowed, and it in turn loads the Google Analytics and Google Ads scripts.
  • Allowing optional measurement may set or access a Google advertising identifier used for Google Ads remarketing, in addition to Google Analytics measurement.
  • The newsletter field in the footer is not connected. Nothing you type into it is sent or stored.

Infrastructure

Where the site runs

RigCircuit is served from Cloudflare's network, and article content is stored in a Cloudflare database. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver a page, which includes your IP address and the request itself. RigCircuit does not add its own logging on top of that and does not build a visitor profile from it.

Your control

Changing your choice

Use the Privacy choices control, available on every page, to review or change your answer whenever you want. Choosing only necessary storage keeps the site fully usable. Withdrawing optional measurement immediately tells Google Analytics and Google Ads to go back to denied for future requests. Reload the page to fully stop a tag already loaded in the current view.

What this page does not yet state

This page describes what the site does today. It does not yet name the legal entity acting as data controller, a postal address, a retention period or a formal route for a data access or deletion request. Those details are being confirmed and will be published here.

Until they are, treat this page as a factual description of the site's behaviour rather than a complete legal notice. If you have a privacy question in the meantime, write to the editorial team. This page will be updated before any analytics or newsletter collection is switched on.
