Source-led route

The World of Sea Battle minimum quality row is a compatibility floor and the high quality row is a published reference point. The official download page lists Windows and Linux through PortProton and WineHQ, a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of VRAM for the first row and a 2.8 GHz dual-core processor with 1 GB of VRAM for the second, plus at least 2 GB of RAM, a stable internet connection and 500 MB of hard disk space.

One figure does not agree with itself across the publisher's own pages. The official home page displays a separate client-size figure of 1 GB, and the two values are never explained as the same installation stage, so this article records both and keeps the discrepancy visible. The sources were checked on August 28, 2026. RigCircuit has not benchmarked the game for this draft. No frame rate, frame time or graphics preset result is claimed.

Evidence

Official World of Sea Battle system requirements

The official system requirements page[1] publishes the values below. The publisher labels its two columns "Minimum quality" and "High quality" rather than minimum and recommended, and this article keeps those labels because the publisher never presents the second row as a recommended configuration.

Component Minimum quality High quality
Operating system Windows or Linux through PortProton and WineHQ Windows or Linux through PortProton and WineHQ
Processor 1.6 GHz dual-core 2.8 GHz dual-core
Memory At least 2 GB RAM, published as a general requirement Not separately specified
Graphics 1 GB VRAM 1 GB VRAM
Minimum supported resolution Not separately specified Not separately specified
Internet Stable internet connection Stable internet connection
Disk space 500 MB listed on the requirements page 500 MB listed on the requirements page

The page names no Windows version, processor model, graphics vendor, graphics API, resolution, refresh rate or network bandwidth. Those fields stay empty here rather than being filled with a generic PC recommendation.

Storage values drift as a live client receives updates, and this one is already inconsistent between two official pages. Keep free space above the larger visible figure rather than treating either number as a permanent installation ceiling.

Section 02

The storage figures need a note

The requirements page lists 500 MB of hard disk space. The official home page[2] separately displays "Client size - 1 GB" near its download and community section. The pages do not explain whether 500 MB is an older installation figure, a compressed download size or a minimum space value, nor whether 1 GB includes additional resources.

For planning, treat the larger visible figure as the local reserve and keep additional room for temporary downloads and updates. That is editorial planning guidance, not a new official requirement, and neither number replaces the other here. Both are reported because the publisher itself has not reconciled them.

Recheck the live download page on the publication date and record the current installer size, client size and free-space message shown by the launcher. If the publisher updates one page but not the other, the difference stays visible in the article rather than being smoothed over.

Context

What the minimum specification means

The minimum quality row confirms a 1.6 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB of VRAM, at least 2 GB of RAM, a stable internet connection and a supported Windows or Linux route. That is a compatibility floor and nothing more.

The publisher attaches no target frame rate, no preset and no battle condition to the row. The page does not say how many ships, players or effects are present in the minimum quality condition, so the row cannot be converted into an expectation about a competitive setting or a stable frame time.

Use the row to answer one question: does this computer clear the published entry values? A 1.6 GHz dual-core reference also predates most current processors, so clearing it says very little about a modern machine.

Context

The publisher does not publish a recommended specification. It publishes a second row labelled "High quality", which raises the processor reference to 2.8 GHz dual-core, keeps 1 GB of VRAM and states no separate memory figure. Those two facts are the whole of the published upper reference.

A 2.8 GHz dual-core processor is not a universal equivalent for any modern processor, and clock speed alone does not establish an equivalence between two chips. 1 GB of VRAM does not identify a graphics card, a vendor or a graphics API, so no card can be named from that field. Record the exact hardware model when checking a computer.

Because the publisher labels the row by picture quality rather than by recommendation, this article does not restate it as a recommended configuration or as a performance guarantee.

Section 05

Supported operating-system routes

The official requirements page lists Windows and Linux through PortProton and WineHQ. This wording describes the supported operating-system paths shown by the publisher. It does not establish that every Linux distribution, Wine version or driver combination behaves identically.

The official website links to a download client and a Steam page. Use the current official download control to identify the intended route. If a player selects the Linux path, record the distribution, kernel, PortProton version, Wine version, graphics driver and translation layer in the support record.

The checked page does not list macOS. Do not add a Mac requirement or recommend a compatibility layer as an official platform without a current publisher source.

Action plan

A practical compatibility checklist

Comparing a computer with the World of Sea Battle table takes a written record of eight or nine fields, because the published values are sparse enough that a single missing detail changes the answer. Start from the official download page[1] and use the current download control rather than an unofficial mirror.

Before installing, record the following:

  • Operating system and exact version.
  • CPU model and physical core count.
  • GPU model and available VRAM.
  • System RAM.
  • Available disk space on the installation drive.
  • Graphics driver version.
  • Download route and installer or client version.
  • For Linux, distribution, PortProton and WineHQ versions.
  • Network connection and the error message if the launcher fails.

Then compare the computer with the published table. At least 2 GB of RAM is the only memory value the page prints anywhere, and it appears against the minimum quality row alone, so treat it as the single published floor and not as a separate high quality figure. Confirm that floor, a dual-core processor at or above the frequency displayed for the row being checked and 1 GB of VRAM. Keep the operating-system path within Windows or the Linux route identified by the official page.

The comparison is a compatibility screen. It is not a claim that the computer will reach a particular frame rate or that a selected quality label will feel stable in every scene.

Action plan

Upgrade priorities for an existing PC

The order below is an editorial interpretation of the published table. It is not a benchmark ranking and it names no product to buy. The official page gives a low hardware floor and no modern component list, so most readers will find that verification, not purchasing, resolves the question.

Fix unsupported components first

Confirm that the operating system is Windows or one of the Linux routes the publisher lists through PortProton and WineHQ. The checked page does not list macOS, so no Mac requirement or compatibility layer can be presented as an official platform. On Linux, save the distribution, graphics stack and compatibility-layer versions, because a PortProton or WineHQ update can change the result while the game files stay the same.

Check memory against the published figure

The only published memory value is at least 2 GB of RAM, and the high quality row states none. A computer below 2 GB does not clear the displayed floor. Before adding memory, verify the motherboard type, available slots, supported capacity and whether the current modules can be reused.

Compare the graphics card on more than VRAM

The table gives 1 GB of VRAM for both rows and nothing else. No graphics card can be selected from that phrase alone, because VRAM capacity does not identify a model, a vendor, a graphics API or a generation. Record the exact card, and keep desktop and laptop entries separate, since a mobile model is not its desktop namesake.

Review the processor and platform together

The published references are a 1.6 GHz dual-core and a 2.8 GHz dual-core processor with no manufacturer, family or generation attached. Those labels are too broad for a precise comparison and no equivalence to a named modern processor can be drawn from clock speed. Record the complete processor model and the platform before deciding on any change.

Make room for the client

Keep more than the displayed 500 MB free, because installers need temporary space. The official home page's 1 GB client-size note is the safer visible planning reference until the two pages are reconciled, and it is not evidence that 1 GB is the final permanent installation size.

If a computer clears every published field and the game still fails, the cause is more likely the operating-system route, the driver, the client version or free space than a missing component.

Evidence record

What this draft does not claim

This article does not claim a frame rate, frame time, latency result or stable quality setting. It does not resolve whether the official 500 MB and 1 GB values describe the same installation stage. It does not add Windows version, DirectX, Vulkan, Mac or GPU-vendor requirements that are absent from the checked page.

A publishable revision needs the current client build, an explanation or updated value for the storage discrepancy and a fresh check of the live requirements page. A field-tested revision needs the exact PC, operating system, driver, client build, resolution, settings, scene, capture method and repeated results.
