News summary
HoYoverse announced Version 7.0, titled "Everwinter Without Mercy," with maintenance scheduled to begin on August 12, 2026 at 06:00 UTC+8. The announcement said that the version introduces Snezhnaya, two new Archon Quest acts and several exploration and inventory changes. This article reports that announcement and the dated release plan. It does not claim a fresh RigCircuit playthrough.
The announced date has passed, and the update itself is confirmed. The publisher's own update-details notice on genshin.hoyoverse.com, posted at the close of the maintenance window, confirms that Version 7.0 shipped on August 12, 2026 as scheduled. The later Version 7.1 Special Program Preview, posted on September 7, announced a September 12 program, and the Version 7.1 Benefits Overview posted on September 12 confirms a September 23 launch. Version 7.0 is therefore reported here as a historical, shipped release rather than as a current-version preview. The Version 7.1 follow-up remains unpublished until its official benefits page can be read again. The update-details and maintenance-preview notices remain hosted on the publisher's own game domain, genshin.hoyoverse.com, replacing the HoYoLAB community-platform posts used in the first draft of this article.
Section 02
Snezhnaya is the headline addition
The official update notes identify Snezhnaya as a new region. They name five areas available with the version: Volkodlak Tundra, White Birch Snowgrave, Everfrozen Earth, Flamefeather Valley and Fellfrost Peak. A Teleport Waypoint near Volkodlak Tundra is intended to unlock automatically for players who meet the listed story requirement.
This gives the release a clear editorial focus. Version 7.0 is not only a character or event rotation. The published notes frame it as the beginning of a regional story and exploration chapter. That description comes from the scope of the official notes. RigCircuit has not independently measured the size of the region, travel time or the amount of available exploration.
Section 03
Two Archon Quest acts are listed
HoYoverse lists Chapter VII: Act I, "Everwinter Without Mercy," and Chapter VII: Act II, "Wraith's Nocturne," as permanently available after the update. The listed unlock requirement is Adventure Rank 18 or above, together with completion of the Prologue: Act III, "Song of the Dragon and Freedom." The notice also says that the automatically unlocked Waypoint can help eligible players reach Snezhnaya even if they have not completed some preceding Archon Quests.
Those requirements are the publisher's documented rules, not a claim that every account will present the same route. The installed client, account progress and any later hotfix may change how the flow appears. Players who want to report the route accurately should record the client build and the account conditions used for the check.

Section 04
A journal is intended to gather regional progress
The update adds the Snezhnaya Adventure Journal. According to the official notes, it records progress through Snezhnaya, shows content that remains unexplored and lists rewards waiting to be claimed. It unlocks after progressing through Chapter VII: Act I and completing "Gunfire in the Silent Lands."
This is useful news for readers who want to understand the update's structure. It is a tracking layer tied to the region, not a promise of a complete walkthrough. RigCircuit can later turn the feature into a Guide article after the interface and unlock path are checked on a live PC account.
Section 05
Several quality of life changes target navigation and storage
The notes list a teleport function for some quest objectives. When a supported objective is selected on the Map screen, the Go button can teleport the player to the objective or a nearby location. The initial scope covers certain quests in Version 7.0, with broader support planned for later versions.
The same notice raises the Map pin limit from 300 to 350. It also increases combined inventory capacity for several development and quest item groups from 2,300 to 2,600, and raises the Artifact capacity from 2,400 to 2,700. These are documented configuration changes. They are not performance measurements and they do not establish a new PC hardware requirement by themselves.
The update notes also describe changes to multi layered map visibility, treasure compass icon priority and certain low graphics quality effects. The official text says those changes are intended to reduce premature information exposure or performance load in specific situations. RigCircuit has not tested the effect on frame rate, frame time or image quality.
Section 06
What PC readers should know
The publisher's Version 7.0 Update Maintenance Preview, posted on genshin.hoyoverse.com, said pre installation was available on PC and estimated 8 GB for that pre installation package, or roughly 3 GB on mobile. The same notice warned that the exact download size can vary with the selected voice over packs. That figure describes the preview download, not a permanent storage requirement for the installed game, and it is confirmed on the publisher's own game domain.
RigCircuit has not measured frame rate, frame time, loading time, input latency or network behaviour for Version 7.0 on PC. Nothing in the announcement establishes a new minimum or recommended specification, and none of the listed graphics adjustments has been tested here.
The announcement also does not settle regional or account conditions. Server, region, account progress and installed voice packs can change what a given player downloads and can reach, and the notices do not resolve that per account.
This article keeps the distinction between the publisher's Version 7.0 notices and RigCircuit's own observations. A current Version 7.1 launcher check, download check or account test would be a separate report.

What this report does not claim
This draft does not claim a benchmark, a graphics preset, a stable frame rate or a change in minimum PC hardware requirements.
It does not claim that no later hotfix changed the values quoted here, or that Version 7.0 content that has since been superseded by Version 7.1 still behaves identically to the original release. The publisher's own update-details notice confirms that the August 12, 2026 maintenance ran as announced. The later Version 7.1 pages are used only to date the next version and are not treated as Version 7.0 client evidence.
The selected illustrative hero is self-hosted under the dated WordPress path, with its source, rights record, credit and hash recorded in the frontmatter and visual register.
The article also does not treat the update as an approved News keyword opportunity. No News Keyword Planner export is present in the repository, so the topic remains a source-led draft until the owner approves the search input.

Source and method note
The primary source is the publisher's own "Everwinter Without Mercy" Version 7.0 Update Details notice, posted on genshin.hoyoverse.com on August 12, 2026. The Version 7.0 Update Maintenance Preview, posted on the same publisher domain on August 10, 2026, supports the maintenance timing and the PC and mobile pre installation sizes. HoYoverse's corporate press release on hoyoverse.com, also dated August 12, 2026, corroborates the region, release date and cross-platform availability. The Version 7.1 Special Program Preview, posted on September 7, and the Version 7.1 Benefits Overview, posted on September 12, were rechecked on September 19, 2026 to correct the later-version context.
The three original HoYoLAB posts attributed to the official Genshin Impact account are retained in the source list as supplementary, early corroboration of the announcement timing only. They are no longer the primary evidence for any claim in this article. Every figure quoted here, the region, the two characters, the third-person shooter mode, the map pin limit, the inventory capacity increases and the PC pre-installation size, is confirmed on the publisher's own game domain. The 7.1 pages are used only for the dated follow-up.
