Genshin Impact PC graphics baseline for a controlled setup

This draft does not promise a fix, an FPS gain or the best graphics for every computer. It provides a reversible baseline to record before anything is changed.

Source-led route

This draft does not promise a fix, an FPS gain or the best graphics for every computer. It provides a reversible baseline to record before anything is changed. RigCircuit has not measured FPS, frame time, latency or image quality on a local Genshin Impact system.

Both sources behind this article are HoYoLAB posts. HoYoLAB carries user posts, so neither can carry a specification or a settings behavior on its own. Everything below is reported rather than instructed, and the article names the Tier 1 pages that must replace them.

Evidence

Confirm the supported environment

The environment is what a later comparison is measured against, so it gets recorded first. A HoYoLAB post attributed to the Genshin Impact official account and titled as a Version 7.0 device performance requirements preview lists Windows 10 64-bit, a sixth-generation Intel Core i5 or AMD Ryzen equivalent, 8 GB of RAM and a GTX 1050 or equivalent discrete GPU as supported PC specifications, a recommended tier of Windows 10 or 11 with 16 GB of RAM and a GTX 1060 6 GB or better, and DirectX 11 for both tiers. Version 7.0 device performance requirements preview[1]

That post carries no published date and RigCircuit does not treat it as publishable evidence for a specification. Read the figures as reported, not confirmed, and check them against the HoYoverse Help Center before acting on them. They are compatibility information in any case, not a graphics preset and not an FPS target. The full specification table and any upgrade advice belong to the Hardware category.

Before changing any in-game option, record the installed game build, the Windows version, the graphics driver version, the display resolution and refresh rate, and the current in-game graphics quality value.

Section 02

Use graphics quality as a controlled starting point

Lowering graphics quality is the one adjustment RigCircuit has any Genshin Impact source for, and even that source is weak. A HoYoLAB PC FAQ post from September 2020 directs players experiencing lag to open the settings from the Paimon Menu and lower graphics quality as needed. Genshin Impact frequently asked questions summary, PC version[2]

That post is six years old at the checked date and sits on a platform carrying user posts. It is not publishable evidence for how the current client behaves, and the menu labels it names may no longer exist. Confirm the route on screen before using it.

Record the current graphics quality value first. If the setup has a problem worth investigating, lower that one value, restart only when the client requests it and return to the same repeatable area. Restoring the recorded value undoes the change completely. Do not change resolution, graphics quality and external driver settings at the same time, and do not treat any value as optimal for every device, mode or accessibility need.

Section 03

Keep the scope narrow

The official sources used here do not publish a current universal list of every graphics label or a recommended competitive preset. For that reason, this article does not assign invented values to shadows, effects, render resolution or frame-rate controls. Those labels must be checked in the installed client before a field-tested update can include them.

This is a Setups article. It explains a reproducible configuration process. It does not compare GPUs, recommend a PC purchase or claim a hardware upgrade is required.

Section 04

A safe one-change routine

The routine records the current state first, uses the reported graphics quality path only for the lag situation it describes, confirms the client reaches a known baseline, then changes one value at a time and keeps the previous value when the new result is not preferred.

  1. Record the game build, graphics driver, resolution, refresh rate and current graphics quality, and confirm the PC is inside the supported environment.
  2. Use the graphics quality path only for the lag situation the source describes.
  3. Confirm the client opens and loads the chosen area normally before changing anything.
  4. Change graphics quality only, and restart only when the client requests it.
  5. Use the same location and the same camera movement for each comparison.
  6. Keep the previous value when the new result is not preferred, and restore it before testing anything else.

Every step is undone by restoring the value recorded in step 1. Nothing here writes outside the game client. This is a Setup workflow. It does not rank GPUs and it does not recommend an upgrade.

Any future RigCircuit test must identify the PC, build, driver, scene, duration and repetitions before reporting a performance or image-quality result.

Evidence record

What remains before publication

The current client must be checked for exact menu labels, available settings and any restart behavior. This draft also needs a documented field test before it can offer values beyond the official advice to lower graphics quality when needed.
